In the aftermath of the pandemic, remote work appeared as an inescapable reality, shaping up to be the ‘new normal’ in the global workplace.

This shift was initially met with widespread acceptance, as organizations and employees adapted to the changing circumstances.

However, as we moved into 2023, a notable shift in narrative began to emerge.

Critical voices, once sparse and subdued, have grown increasingly louder and more frequent. These critiques often revolved around vague assertions about diminished creativity and accusations of inefficiency, frequently citing survey-based studies as definitive proof.

As a project manager, I recognize the importance of physical presence, at least on a part-time basis, as a crucial element of my role. Yet, I remain a steadfast advocate for the benefits of remote work in many roles. Beyond my personal stance, it’s crucial for project managers to grasp the broader implications on team dynamics.
