Beyond hallucinations: why Apertus is the first truly trustworthy LLM

Remember when DeepSeek was called a “Sputnik moment”?

Not because it was the fastest or most accurate model, but because it proved something bigger: that the AI race was no longer just about Silicon Valley.

A system from China, built with different technology and consuming far less energy, showed that the U.S. giants were not unreachable.

Compliance isn’t patched on after launch, or left for deployers to figure out. It is embedded in the architecture.
