Not sure if the Russians will be impressed by this warning.

There is such a distance between the tragic situation in Ukraine, and the bureaucratic nature of the request, that I couldn’t help remember one of the funniest sequences in Kubrick’s masterpiece.

For those who haven’t seen it, the film is a satire that explores the possibility of a nuclear war breaking out between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. In the scene above, the English officer is trying to contact the US President to deliver a message that could avert the catastrophe.
