How can AI care about our interests?
If you use AI to design a process, the problem of “value alignment” is especially important because the AI will be making decisions based on the values that it has been programmed with. If those values are not aligned with the values of the organization or the individuals using the AI, then there could be some serious issues.
For example, if the AI is designed to maximize profit, but the organization values customer satisfaction more than profit, then the AI might make decisions that are not in the best interests of the customer.
